    Questions about 3.91 differential...

What did it come in? I guess I should probably know the answer to this but I don't.

I have never seen a 3,91 in a 325i Sport-- just in 325ix- and I did have a small housing 3,91 reg. sperre- but not sure what it came out of, kinda think it was a 318 wagon or some crap.
the 325i cars here had either the 3,64s-- early no cat cars- or the 3,73s(from what Ive seen anyway.

Some US cars came with them, I think it was some of the 325i verts or something, it's rare though in non viscous.

        I have one :p

          I think, small-case in 90-91 318i (non-is) and med-case 325ix

not sure but it was definitely available in the US in LSD form for the e30.

Call Dan at diffsonline. Thats who I got my 3.91 from and he usually has all kinds of e30 diffs lying around new or used

I believe you can find a 3.91 in a medium case. My guess would be an E34 6cyl model diff.

I went from a 4.10 in my 91 318is to a 3.73 and I think its perfect, what do you have now?

Kinda OT, is the stock 3.73 in a 325i medium case? Because my 3.91 is the same. I <3 it, one of my favorite, but most expensive parts.

Some E24 autos had 3.91s... I have a very nice, low mileage 3.91 open if anyone is interested...

Edit: This would be a medium case diff.

3.91 looks like a great compromise.

I have 2 325i euro and they both have 4.10's in them. I have been checking the junk yards for a couple years and can only find 4.10's until yesterday found a 3.91 in an iX.

What is viscous and non viscous,? I never heard of this before
