thats what my buddy is saying... tell me this: your my buddy, you come to me asking for me to do this swap, you know were cool and respectable to each other, what would you expect me to say as for a deal? knowing between 5 and 7k is a normal price...

why not a 2jz way better motor then a rb more torque plus its cheapper.

honestly, to me anything other than a bmw engine in a bmw is lame imo. i think a 240 is more of the "swap everything possible into this bitch" kind of car. but its HIS money, not mine, and his choice. if im getting paid, i wont complain, thats for sure.

plus, there are two 2jz in my buddys garage we are overhauling one to re-sell that came out of his current 'rolla, and another that will be rebuilt to take some boost... so we have enough of 2jz's to worry about for the time being lol

my buddy is saying 5k for labor, he supplies the parts and we take over the rest. including fab work... sound about right? i mean, to me, i swapped engines for soley to help a friend, i never thought of "hey i want xxxx amount for this". although the friends i have done it for/with, it was always a "you scratch my back, i scratch yours" kinda thing... some of the best friends i could ask for. thats why im asking about labor... never been on this side of the fence, per say.

If I were you, I'd stick with what you know, and drop in an RB for $2500, labor only. Don't sell yourself short.

Over 8 sr swaps
A supra engine in a cressIda
A 2.7i swap in and out

Currently I am working with another friend with putting a s50 and all goodies in his e30

So its not a matter of lack of experience, although I never did a v12 swap, I kind of don't want to... To me its pointless, but every thing has a price. A rb would be from previous experience, and fab work won't be a issue. I'm not talking of starting a business, just trying to help a buddy out. Currently I'm unemployed, I need money so badits unreal, and I will not screw him over either...
So let's rephrase the original question: for two people to completly swap in a rb26 engine and all necessary parts to get the car on the road in a driveable fashion, what do you think would be a good price for labor alone? Not including engine work (if any), parts running and such other issues.

Plus, I'm not a jackass, I know my limits compared to other dipshits around.

Consider that both engines are huge. You will need to figure out a place to put the radiator, which will require a lot of custom hose or duct work.
