Gauging Interest: Glass Replacement Lenses For Late Fogs?

Spoke with the boss of a pattern maker shop that my buddy works at re: making the molds for these. The cheapest quote i got from other glass manufacturers was $7,000 for the molds.

If i can get that price down to around $3-4,000 though my buddy, i might go through with it.

i think youd be better off trying to sell etiquette lessons to charlie. the day id gamble 7k on e30 owners is the day i want to be mowed down by a r3v member drifting thru a corner on 4 different sized bald tires. you will be my age before you realize a profit

There are new fog light kits on ebay for $40. How about trying to get ahold of the manufacturer to see if they can sell you a shipment of just lenses. They look pretty legit.

thanks for not telling us how long you've had them when talking about a product being okay for however long you've had it.

I've had them installed for about three months, but only working for six weeks or so. :crazy:

Whats wrong with the ones that bmwlight.com sells?
I bought a set of fog light lenses and when I got them they was glass.

How crazy was the install? I don't know if I'm comfortable 'chipping away' at the old fog light; as the website puts it.

My brother also had acrylic on his 318is, but they were brand new, and he only ran them for about 2 months before he totaled it...They seemed to be good quality, I couldn't tell the difference between his and mine, which I know are glass.

woah woah, watch when you say that. That phrase has has given some good intentioned people a bad rep. Well thanks for taking the time to get quotes, of course cheaper would be better :)

I trust this guy though, $100, I'd definitely consider it. I have a cracked one, but the laminx is holding it together, still sealed, enough that I don't care to replace it...But $100 for amber glass replacements, I'd consider.

its broke. like, the glass plumb broke when I done installed it yuk yuk <this is when you let out a long whisle through your missing front toof> cost me forty dollers i coulda bought a lotta chaw for that
