    A brief introduction

Hey everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm a jersey/pennsylvania resident that works in West Africa - yeah, it sucks. I was told about this site by some of my fellow members on bfc, a forum that I work for, that you guys know your stuff on the E30 M10s I hope I came to the right place.

I just picked up an '84 E30 318i so I'm rather excited to get cracking on it. Granted it's going to need a bit of work to get it up to par but it's main purpose for now is winter beater until the spring/summer comes along. From there, who knows what is in store for it. Perhaps a cleaned up and kitted daily driver since it's sister E36 is going to be put under alot pressure soon.

She's going to be my cheap, reliable and under powered (keeping me out of trouble) bimmer till I get the E36 finished. Anybody ever see one of these in Imola Red?

I'm a noob when it comes to the E30 so any info you'd like to throw my way would be greatly appreciated. I have yet to actually pick up the car but I'm excited to start my E30 project.

pics can be found here: www.rsiwerks.com/projecte30

so who's from Jersey or East Pa?

    -Ron

Welcome man. And this about with the only E30 forum (okay, maybe BEN, haven't been there in a while) with an average IQ of over 100, you seem to have a straight head so you'll appreciate it.

The first tip I'll give you is before you start a new thread with a question, search the forum to see if it has been covered previously. Many informative topics have been discussed thoroughly.

oh no....wait...bokes is on here? ;)

thanks for the tip, I've been using the search feature for the past day or two looking for just about anything I can think of for the car including a potential LS1 upgrade. I've already got a lock on a LS1/T56 w/46k for $2k....but that's probably a pipe dream for a little while. I'm just excited to have a car that weighs in at only 2300lbs (dry?).

I have scoured BFC for the past week and let's just say that DTM is a lost cause. I'm sure that 99% of all my questions can probably be covered via a quick search since the car has been rolling around for the past 20 years....I doubt I'll have any surprises that you guys haven't already experianced.

either way, I just wanted to introduce myself officially since I've now got what will soon become my dream car. ....gotta love the E30.

          Hey Ron....

Looks like the both of us came over here from BFC at the same time.... 8)

I just picked up an E30 325is this weekend as my daily driver as well....

Have you driven the E30 yet or are you still in Africa? It might take a while to get used to the E30's power level...

          Good luck with the car!

              welcome over man.

Actually when I said click on my site I meant "my" site. This is what you want for installing the Euro Ellips into the old car....

Like bokes said everything you are going to ask for now has been covered a 100 times so for a couple months we are all going to look like geniuses until you find something that leaves us scratching our heads.

If you buy the ellips kit from MIke Abrahams (www.abrahamsmotorsport.com) he can supply you with the parts kits too for the install.
              Im now E30less.
