Or an e39 touring. Mine has proven to be quite the hauler!

Every day I wake up we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day I wake up to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in.
    Lobsterbacks attack the town again
Wrap all my things in aluminum
Beams of darkness streak across the sky
Pink rays from the ancient satellite
Every time I look out my window same three dogs looking back at me.
Every time I open my windows cranes fly in to terrorize me.

I think this is the picture (blocked at work)

Should be a GSR in the passenger seat.

I've had an m20 longblock in the trunk before.

Of course, the head was removed and rearranged, but it all fit

          Sam: wrong pic!

Trunk area, not passenger seat area...

Alright, I'll give it a shot

E39's are wagons, E34's are tourings.

I would rent a Van or a Pickup if possible, or a small moving truck. It will cost you a few bucks, but it will save you a lot of aggravation and the odds of gashing part of your interior and/or exterior are reduced to zero.

I've moved stuff in my old 325es before by removing the front passenger seat and rear bench, but wouldn't recommend it for moving an engine although it can be done, but something will almost for sure get scratched, ripped, etc...during the process and will probably cost more to fix then renting a truck.

Wouldn't fit in the back? I ask because my buddy is picking up something nice for his EK9.

Does the term "long block/short block" apply to BMW engines? Im not trying to punk anyone, Ive just always been curious.

                            Mariano,

I always thought it was universal, not specific to any engine make?

Well, yes. But I dont know if it applies due to the fact that there is no "short block" M10. If one says the engine code, one knows what block it is already. I dunno.
