What is a valance? I am trying to figure out what to do to put some later model bumpers on my car but I do not know how to go about it.
I am going to hide the diving board bumpers for now

is it a possibility to put a valance on my car and leave the bumpers as they are and not have to do a complete swap with later model bumpers or do I have to do the swap?

so my question over all is what is a valance? am I right when I say it can just be installed under the original bumper and I would be good for the front at least?

oh and one last question. how do I attach a picture so I dont have to just insert a link?

Heres the break down get the late valance, cut both tow hooks, and it will bolt on (probably will need some encouragement)

The lip is a volvo lip, ~20$ from most junkyards

The IS lip is also sexy, but considerably more


As far as different valances, there is the euro one but its a subtle difference and $$

Also, there are other aftermarket options, but the late model valance is more plentiful and works [and looks] better ususally.

The lip is off the 740 with big headlights. When youre looking remember that you flip it upside down when you mount it on e30s

I dont know the part number, but im sure you can find it on realoem.com

Edit: my car was lowered in between those pics, make sure to do that, stance helps ealy models, well, all e30s

oh ya man i got the H&R springs in my trunk that are going on on saturday. i got a crap load of stuff to do. i got some gaskets to put in the oil pan and stuff to get my oil leak to stop and then new shifter maybe if not then just some rummber bushings that have to be replaced so this shifter isnt so sloppy. oh and my car has no door handle on the passanger side and barely anything on the driver side so at least i can get out but i have to open the door for my girlfriend all the time haha

Nope, you need aftermarket for that, im working on a zender rear. To do the rear valance from the late model would be pretty much a custom fab

ya ill have to figure something out. ill probly just find a way to do a rear valance so i dont make my car have a DVB on the front and not on the back. haha
