Why not M50? Because there is more involved with that swap. More time, more money, etc. The guy said <$2000, to do an M42 swap, replace profile gasket, valve cover gasket, etc. wouldn't run over that amount.
Tempting. My dad does have a hoopdy truck i can borrow.
I would want one around the milage I have on my m10 which it just rolled over 100,000.

easiest way would be to sell the thing and buy something closer to what you want

Yeah but nothin a real man can't do. . .
So I think i will leave it to someone else. Jk.

I have a friend who has done some welding for me and probably be willing to help. I was reading a site that sells exhaust manifolds for $360 plus $190 for ceramic coated.

He could easily go cheaper on both
not everyone just adds springs to trashed suspension josh. dont lead him down your path.

quinn: there are plenty of 325e cars in the local market. peddle your car for what ever you can get out of it and take the 2k and find yourself one. id suggest a white car any other and the paint goes to hell as you probably noticed.

then tires for the wheels are at least 300. and you will need new struts and shocks when you do your coil over kit which will be at the very least another 350. along with the labor to modify the front struts to accept the coil over sleeves if he doesn't know how to do the cutting and welding that is needed.

like i said. 2k will buy the first two items. you were missing a few expenses

Also if your girlfriend is always bitching that it is a pile. And you are kicking around the idea of making it a sleeper.

Ive had my car for little bit and 1 thing I recomend is that if you are tearing it all out, dont just replace 1 thing.

Does it make sense to chage 1 tire or by a set because 1 will wear more and you will need another soon? If you just throw on springs and dont change anything else it seems to me like a waste of time? Why not replace everything while you are in there.

                                replace:

                                rtabs
                                rear sub.
                                CA's
                                cabs
                                shocks
                                springs
                                motor mounts
transmission mounts (often break on the m10 for some reason)
                                diff mount
                                shock mounts
and check the power steering boots and axel boots
