    well i am psyched

well i decided to post this due to the fact that i Finally discovered the cause of my tapping in my 318is. after a 2 and a half years of dealing with it i will be fixing it this winter. I had tried everything to no avail, from chain tensioner to trying sea foam, all different types of oil, and all i have to say is FUCK YOU hydraulic tappets and you deciding that only one of you should start leaking.

That is all. pics later this winter. when i get the money to replace them

Nice. I wish I could get rid of the tappetty tap tap sound my m20 makes but people keep telling me it's normal for an m20.

how did you find out that the hydraulic tappets were the problem?

I was pulling apart the head after i removed it in order to do the head gasket and figured i would check out the hydraulic buckets to dee how badly worn they were and they are not too bad until i got to CYL. 4 where both intakes were shot to shit so that is how.
