    PNW people?

well after i changed my rotors and brakes i started to get this really intense rattling sound coming from the engine bay. i believe some part in or around the flex pipe broke. after the car is warmed up, the horrible sound goes away. i was told i'd need to buy a number 1*. yet another person said id be able to cut it out and weld a new one in? that seems more complicated than just installing a new one, which is what id rather do. so my question is, does anyone have an extra number 1* by chance?

EDIT: if you'd like, you could have the part im taking out incase you want it for some reason.

Take it to a muffler shop they should be able to help you with that, by the time you do it your self time + money they might just beat that.

Sounds like you got owned there. Go to a local shop, no huge branch or anything like that, tell them you need a new downpipe and show them where its messed up, they can do it.

ha. it was a local shop. i have the card in front of me. and how much SHOULD a new down pipe cost, just so i can have that knowledge in the back to refer back to.

and just by looking at it with the hood open..i physically see any cracks. it might be inside the tubing? i'll double check again tomorrow though.

Find a downpipe and bring it over. My dad has a plethora of welders.

haha. i will as long as matt doesnt touch my car. if he does, ill end up missing work, having to drive my moms car around for 2 days..and end up getting pissed.

but ill prob bring my car your house so you can take a look at it too. so teh downpipes are the things down from the manifolds that start to curve under the car to the cat?

btw. i dont have an extra part.

My freshman year college roommate grew up in West Hazell Dell, this explains so much.
