alrighty then, ill take your advice and make sure the maintence is up to date and stuff, but then when im done with all that where should i start? i have a friend that is a mechanic and my cousin graduated from MTTI so he knows about repairs and such. getting this thing to run smoothly shouldnt take too long.

and i cant wait cause as soon as its good to go im quitting my second job. and focusing more on school

if you have to ask, why bother? dont change the car just for the sake of changing the car. do what you think looks good. for ideas you might like, browse one of the zillion picture threads on the forum.

        Someone should tell him..

Allright - I'll do it then.

Thing about moding your E30... Once you start - there's no turning back... It's an addiction. Seriously. Ok. You've been warned.

        Now.

After you do something with those bumpers your best mod would be:
        Stop, Drop and Roll

i wasnt really trying to ask what to do, since i know what i want, i was wondering what to do first or if i should not do something in particular (black caps lol ). since most members have seen more e30s good and bad than i have i thought it'd smart to ask you guys.

since none of what you listed in functional, it all comes down to your taste. I think all of what you listed looks good, but I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me

forgive me for sounding noobish, by stop drop and roll are you referring to brakes, suspension and springs etc.?

Stop - Fresh brakes are good for your health.
Drop - Lower car looks nicer and with right struts and springs it will handle better too
Roll - do that and get it rolling ;)

^^just as i thought lol (almost)

but thats in the future plans as in distant future as far as im concerned.
i want a decent looking car that runs smooth to use as a DD so most of the mechanical work will be for maintenence not really performance.

Nothin wrong with a few $5 mods...There's time between getting parts and such when you really can't fix anything, and you can get it looking a lot nicer for cheap.

For the red tails, I'd recommend stained glass spray, not model paint, and not metalcast. If you paint your bumper trim all around it will look a lot better, looks just like new trim. And shadowline and kidney, that's up to you. Also get new emblems if yours are worn out.

Oh, and +1 on cleaning. Get some clay bar, polish, and wax. Vacuum the inside, take out your front seats and clean under them, clean the carpet. Maybe get something to put on your dash(but be careful about that, search first for good cleaners, you could ruin the dash)
