    There is one of the local sportbike guys here that does custom CF work. So since I don't really care about that body kit anyway, I'm going to open a big hole and have him build me a CF velocity stack.

    What you're doing is just about like the setup on the 96 and back Dodge Dakota's had. But they had a plate to deflect the air from going straight into the hole for the air intake. And the hole was in the core support just behind the grill. I found that i had alot of bugs smashed onto my air cleaner with the plate removed, kind of like what you have with the hose hooked straight to the grill.

    it isn't a bad idea, i did something similar to my CIS-E Motronic A-2 jetta a while ago. it is hard to say if i made a big difference or not, but it surely couldn't have hurt either
