so....what improvements could i do to this cai idea? I can't improve if no one tells me what to improve on. I'll try to get some temp reading at the opening, end,and filter. I know that just a heat shield alone makes it so the filter stays cool to touch. so some more outside air shouldn't hurt.

it isn't a bad idea, i did something similar to my CIS-E Motronic A-2 jetta a while ago. it is hard to say if i made a big difference or not, but it surely couldn't have hurt eitherseien Sie größer, als Sie erscheinen

What you're doing is just about like the setup on the 96 and back Dodge Dakota's had. But they had a plate to deflect the air from going straight into the hole for the air intake. And the hole was in the core support just behind the grill. I found that i had alot of bugs smashed onto my air cleaner with the plate removed, kind of like what you have with the hose hooked straight to the grill.so....what improvements could i do to this cai idea? ^Precisely.
There is one of the local sportbike guys here that does custom CF work. So since I don't really care about that body kit anyway, I'm going to open a big hole and have him build me a CF velocity stack.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
