    Cassette Adapter?

I have a cassette ipod adapter however it doesnt work for some reason??? the car is a 1993 325i and I've seen pics of others with them in so im not sure?

the radio is stock and when i try and use it it just goes with no sound for a little while and then spits the adapter out.

    Anybody know what to do?

I had problems too. head sounded like it kept trying to switch sides from A to B back and forth. I figured it just wasn't compatible with an older stereo.

it only spins one direction. many cheap adapters have only one sound head. You have to flip the wire output to the other side of the tape and then play it that way. Not sure if the stock radio can play both sides of the tape or just one (I assume both)

well you put it in sideways and the cord is on the outside so im guessing it wouldnt fit if you flipped it cause of the cord. i hope i understand what you said

No problem running this set up.

hardwired the charger under the dash [cig lighter] and ran it out here:

and they work fine with them..or else if they werent..then some company who produced music through cassette tapes..the owners of the tapes had to get a "special" cassette tape player. know what i mean? but you're right...he'll need to get a new one.

Just spring for a small radio broadcaster, more expensive but easy to use and universally accepted. Get one of the wire ones, not one with a solid mounting arm to put in your cig lighter.

Mine cost 40 bucks and it was well worth it.

I'm not a fan of the FM transponders because they don't have particularly good sound quality, at least in my experience. The tape isn't aweful, but there is a mod on this site somewhere that shows you how to hardwire an input. I'm thinking about going back to a stock headunit just for that and the factory look.

you can get a hardwired FM mod. It works much better than a wireless and you wont be constantly switching to find a clear station. It daisy chains off your antenna and into the radio they work very well.

yeah i dont want an fm transmitter otherwise the antennas always up which really looks odd haha.

ill search for the hardwire to the factory unit but if anyone else finds it let me know. thanks
