    Washing your car

Its probably just me, but I feel like my car drives better after I wash it. Anyone else feel that way? I know nothing has changed mechanically on the car, it just feels better.

Ive gotten my wash technique down pat at the coin-op washer. $4.00 takes care of everything including wheels. What about y'all?

Yes it is a proven fact that well maintained cars run better than poorly maintained ones ;). In the summer I hand wash the IS every weekend and has always driven perfectly.

Drag coefficient man, so fresh so clean it just slips through the air.

For me it's the interior, the outside of the car can be dirty as hell, but if the interior is dirty it breaks the whole deal. Especially important now with winter.

I will say that a car looks extra clean in winter. Stands out against the snow.

I haven't washed mine in at least a month, I have no time, especially having to go somewhere to wash it, with my lack of driveway and hose.

I don't get around to washing my car as much as I should. But I do tend to keep the interior clean. I guess it's because that's what I see all the time when I'm driving it.

I know the feeling, but I can't explain it. Its kind of like the feeling you have getting out of the shower... you just feel better.

I only use the high pressure rinse at the carwash. Then I usually find a stall thats been used recently so the brush still has soap on it. I use the free soap to scrub my windows and wheels, then use the rinse. In the end I pay less than $2

actually it's proven that waxing airplanes helps them slip through the air a bit easier
Not that I care, of course.

Yes. Washing the car is important but I find that drying it with a chamois' is what makes or breaks the deal.

And for the record my car feels just as good when it drives dirty as it does clean.

i hand wash in the summer. i used to wash in my garage during the winter but too much moisture builds up for my cars in storage so my daily winter car suffers. maybe once a month at the touchless wash for it

Hand wash or Car wash during the summer depending on my mood or how dirty it is. Winter I usually just neglect both of them. Its usually so cold, washing them is more trouble than its worth.

In the summer I was washing my car every second day but the paint was starting to show it with all of the microscopic scratches building up really quick.
