I have ran their bits for over 6 years. Just started having a couple small issues last year, due to my rewiring madness, not theirs. I would buy them again if they came out with digital slim ballasts and 55w kits.

The Prolumens I got were different colors, annoying as they dont match each other. The next kit I buy will be DDM for the e34s. Give them a try at the price, you cant really go wrong.

Apexcone(DDM) FTW!! Really good price and great kit I have it on both my cars for about a year now and I've had no problems, plus if they ever fail you could always get replacements from them cheap.

Thanks for the input gents. If there is not reason to spend anymore on the Prolumens vs the DDM kit, then I'll just but 35w HIDs in the high and low spots.

For the same reason I bought Works CR-Kais instead Rota Torque's.

              I absolutely agree.

I think these have just experienced engineering and production advances.

Yes, at first they were fairly expensive. Now, as the technology has spread, and production output has been simplified, they are really just as cheap as a pair of headlight bulbs.

Buy an extra set like i did as a back up just in case. They're cheap enough to do so, and DDM has said they hope to get prices even lower in Jan/Feb.

i may have a unique experience here, but my friend bought a set from DDM, the apexcone kit (hi-lo h-4s), and after about 4 months he had a problem with the lowbeams not working but the highbeams would, turns out the switching relay was bad, and they refused to replace it.

everybody else seems to have no problems, but i'm guessing you are also just using the lowbeam kits, not the hi-lo's.

i would still recommend the apexcones from ddm, they work great.

only kit i used to recommend was pro lumens. then someone went and made a video over on bimmerforums showing people taking the prolumens and ddm kits apart......they are identical. on a side note, years ago i bought a full size ballast 35watt prolumens kit and had no issues. i bought a digital 35watt prolumens kit a little over a year ago, wife calls on her way home yesterday, one of the lights is out. got it home and tried swapping around parts and the ignitor is out on one side. habbie has yet to get back to me, although i just emailed him last night. hopefully he comes through with the warranty coverage.

i think im gonna go with DDM 55watt digitals on the m3, when i get it on the road.

I believe Phillips are the original Xenons, and potentially have a patent/copyright on "xenon". BMW Bulbs are in fact Phillips Xenons, though. Sounds like a safe choice to me. Id go with Verdier's advice, and get something like the DDM/Apex with the lifetime warranty. Havent heard too bad of things about them. Id imagine the bigger difference will be in the projector quality, rather than the bulb quality. Im just guessing about the projector issue, though.

I dont believe we use 9005 and 9006 bulbs though, They are H bulbs IIRC.

I thought the Hx bulbs were for Euro Ellips? I have an '88 with US Ellips.

US Elips are 9006 low/9005 high.

The 35 watt DDM kit is more than retarded bright... a co worker just bought a 55w kit for his jetta's projector setup, I'll let you know if I notice a difference once he's installed it.

DDM's stuff is so cheap buy 2 sets, carry the extra one in the car. If it fails your not stranded with no lights, return the dead set, and get new ones. That's what I'm doing on my e36 currently.
