Whats your guys opinon im desperate here

OK guys, kinda of a long story here but hear me out this is crazy stuff.
So my car has been at this Shop (CotaMotorsports in Mira Mar) for like 2 months now. For the first couple weeks my car was there it was having some issue that they couldn't figure out. It seemed my engine "had demons" so i opted for an engine swap that i was going to do next year anyway. So this engine swap has taken them like a month maybe even longer than that. I call this guy Nick up, the owner of the shop mind you. and he very very rarely every answers his phone. I have camped outside this guys shop during week days and have had no luck confronting him. And in the rare occurrence that i do talk to him he always has some excuse OR he tells me ill have my car back sometime during the week which i never do.

Last i heard from the guy he was supposed to have dropped my car off at my house this was last Thursday. Now he just real seriously doesn't answer emails or phone calls. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO. He offered me a full refund and some other stuff earlier which is why i have let this go on so long but now its just all over i want my car and my money back but i can't even get my car because its locked up in his shop and i can't get a hold of him.

I have been told to call the BBB and BAR but whats the point they can't do anything about getting my car back. What are my options really?

There was a thread a while back of a guy in a similar situation. It came down to the shop owner pointing a gun at him and telling him to get the fuck out.

    Watch your back, man.

What kind of stuff do you have in writing (receipts, contracts, etc)? Have you paid anything yet? Where is the car right now? What is the current state of the car?

Sucks man. I hope you get the car back soon!

talk to your local "johnny law" and see what they can do for you. having the cops come with you to get your car will change attitudes quickly!

PoPo will solve all this for you.

just make sure they don't know where you live.

If you do this, make sure you only have to go there ONCE and don't forget anything...

If you come with the cops one time, you better have them with you any time after that.

I don't have anything in writing :-(. Since my car was so hard to drive i had to do it late at night so the plan was to drop it off at night when noone was on the roads and come back for everything later. I thought i could trust this guy cuz my buddy who used him a lot sung praises. I am under the impression the car is at his shop. and the last i heard there was just a minor wiring problem and the instrument cluster wasn't working. He said he just had to splice this and that and i'd have my car back. :-(. I was thinking about bringing the popo. But this guy isn't at his shop. I'd basically be like well this is the place its all locked up and if you look through the window here...Yep thats my car.

youre going to have to keep your title with you and randomly go by the shop. first time you see any sign of life in there call the cops and have them meet you there. be sure all your shit is in order so you dont waste the cops time. they will be much more helpful if youve thought this out. have a list written out of all the times and dates youve made contact and promised things. its not definitive proof of anything but the cops will realize youre not some dumbass like dsp74 who suggests burning a business down or shooting someone in the head

Not sure tell you the truth. Just know his name is Nick owner of Cota motorsport. And he has a buddy Tom who was working with him earlier. What if it is Hennessy?

Well i went to the shop with my pops the other day....The new engine was in the car so that was a plus? Keeping in mind i was supposed to get the car back yesterday when i got there, my car was in the air, tires obviously off. He was in the engine bay with wires in his hands :-(. My AC isn't connected, no serpentine belt on. wires everywhere. and to top it all off my starter didn't work a wiring problem...:*(. I am not even going to get into what happened while we were there but conclusion no car.
He said once he gets the wiring diagram for the starter he can fix the problem, button up the car, and its in my hands. So i was under the impression, one more day. Talked to him today 0 progress with the car. ZEEERRROOOO. My heart shattered. I have some doubts about what happens over the weekends i would wager to say nothing though. He offered me another car to borrow while mine is out of order but shit i'd really like mine back you know :-(. I haven't even gone xmas shopping yet :-(. well that is the update guys.
