Good shipping tip for large body panels

Need to ship a large body panel? Such as a door, trunklid, bumper or otherwise?

Go to any bodyshop, and ask them if they have any boxes of the part you are looking to ship.
For example, if you need to ship a bumper, ask them if they have a box that a bumper for a small compact car came in.
Also, you can check out glass repair places. Boxes that windshields are shipped in are usually the perfect size for bumpers, valences, etc...

They are almost always the right size, and usually free! The shop owners will usually be glad to give them to you, as it saves them money on having their cardboard dumpsters picked up.

haha, i just did this yesterday. had to ship a full e30 bodykit interstate. dont stopat just body shops either. i ended up going to a piano/keyboard shop. also on the list was a whitegoods shop.

haha, i borrowed my friends white minibus thing, it looks like a school bus. we asked this manager guy if we could take some boxes, and he was being a real prick and flat out said NO. so my mate turned to me with a sad look on his face and said "damn, the poor special children are gonna be so upset". the manager was like "oh, sorry, i didnt know what it was for. helll, take as many as you can, guys. anything for a good cause"

aaanyhoo, not very PC, but it was in good fun. you probly had to be there too.
