    Someone made me happy today.

I just wanted to post this here because I really got touched "in the Christmasy season and all"

Soo, I work over here at a German dealership (I am American) (for those that don't know)and we do have a fairly decent sized American Clientel. (a U.S. Army post is right down the street).--I am the translator/ do everyhting that has to do with the u.s. stuff.

So, most of the time I deal with pissed off or just asses that arent happy with something.
heck, services are free in the U.s.-- not here! There are plenty soldiers that come that are very polite and enjoyable people too....so on to my little story....

So 2 weeks ago I get my job card and I need to take the TPM sending units out of 18" rims and put them into 19" rims- easy enough-- Its a brand new U.S. white M3-- get the job done all goes well.- sweating bullets with breaking down so many big NEW tires and rims!!!

well last Thursday i get my job card in the morning and need to install a reverse camera on the same M3. get the job done- all goes well.

yesterday I see the M3 in the parking lot and think to myself hmm what doesn't work??????
had a bunch of software problems getting it all to work-- but ended up getting it together.

Well the the shop manager comes back to the shop and calls us all together-------

the owner of the M3 bought a few cases of American beer and a whole bunch of "American" soft batch monster cookies for the shop to split.-- for the Germans in the shop "I am the only non German"-chocolate chip cookies and American beer is something very different to get- and cool.

he just wanted to stop by and say thanks and that he was very happy with the work and wanted to show his appreciation.

So, what I wanted to say was, I actually thought was there wasn't such a thing as people like him. He made a whole lot of people think about him, and i am sure the next time the U.S. white M3 comes in for services it is going to be taken care of with a bit extra detail

Sounds great! Where I used to work, once in a while a Phillipino couple we did work for and were good customers, would bring a huge tray of home made egg rolls. Those were to die for. We would grab 6 at a time and munch while we were working.

Thats great. Its nice to see such things happening still. Funny thing is, he's actually just helping himself out in the end. Thats so cool.

It's amazing how many people don't realize that it's the little nice things you do that make the biggest difference.

Good work! It's a small, simple gesture but it really does mean a lot to the guys doing the work. Those kind of customers always get preferential treatment later on down the road!

It really has nothing to do with the work that I did, I was just doing my job, and actually easy ones at that.

It is more along the lines of more and more it seems the rest of the world looks down on Americans (not everywhere/everyone)-- and to see someone come in and go out of his way a bit for others- that he doesnt even know. The American beer and cookies are sold on the u.s. post- so it wasnt even hard for him to get, just a really kind gesture!

Here in Germany tips are not really given- about 7 years ago, I went to a tire shop at 5 min. before they were closing and wanted a set of 20" low profile tires mounted.-- they did it and I could see they werent happy, so I gave them a 30 euro tip-- every time I have ever gone to that place since, they all go out of thier way for me- even know my name in the shop.

another thing a few weeks ago ----- I had to go drive into town to "rescue" a baby that was locked in a new e91-- the lady was standing outside of it and the kid was screaming- the key somehow locked the car and then fell into the baby seat. I busted the window out with a sledge-- and she gave me a $70 tip-- no lie!!!-- I felt so bad recieving money for such a destructive fun thing-- how often do you get paid to break windows on new cars!
