PLASTIC SHAFT broke inside the shift tube of my auto tranny and im stuck in park can the repair be done from topside...thanks

Um.. the plastic shaft inside the shift lever? or is this something that is broken in the actual transmission? If it's the former, just take off the shift lever and use whatever to push down on the shaft and put the car in gear.

thanks ...plastic shaft was not broken......set screw is missing and shaft slipped down ...all is fixed
