    Glass roof info please...

I got my 318is home and parked it... now I look at the front of the glass sunroof...it is curved

Shitmonkeys...every other e30 I have ever owned had a straight front on the sunroof, this car also has an alloy lip attached to the roof all the way around the slider, it looks factory, and it slides back normally, WTF mate?

This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

I hear you on that one, the front of my glass roof is curved, but it has an alloy lip all around as well.

Quick FIRST bump for two people who want to know.

do they seal properly? Look tight/flush when closed? What do you mean curved? The ark on the front does not follow the roof line? or the bulge up?

              Details...

The back of the roof, and both sides are straight lines, on most cars the front is a straight line, but on this one it is an arc, it could be described as slightly convex.

The panel I have in the garage is 19.5" measured all the way accross and is just over 33" wide including the shagged seal. The trim is also not chrome on either one that I have owned.

The one I currently have is just the glass no sliders, trashed seal etc. If you have any interest in buying the piece I have I'll sell it cheap, PM me.

Is that one totally clear? No tint at all?

Completely tinted, the darker distal area that you see is opaque.

The roof cutout itself is wrapped with a metal edging.

The lip on the roof that you see is metal as well.

EDIT: Something else to confuse you; the sun roof switches correspond to the ASC Four Seasons moonroof(sunroof?) The ASC (auto sunroof control) does work as well (when ASC button is pressed, the roof will return to the closed position when the car is turned off.)

I have no idea if this is something that all sunroofs do, so yeah, that's all I know.

I need glasses or something. I see now that it's installed on your car. Is it covered in ice or something? Does it leak?

It is installed on my car, and was when I got it.

I'm the 2nd owner and it was taken from CA, but I don't know how the PO had it done (whether factory or not.)

In this picture it is covered in ice that accumulated while i was at work and the car parked outside the hospital. Took pics when I got home.

                          It does not leak.
