this thread inspired me to seafoam the car today.

sucked about 1/3 of the can thru the vacuum line, put the rest in the gas tank. let the car sit for about half an hour(had to run to the store to get a new vacuum line, old one crumbled)

it made a fair bit of smoke, but nothing like what I've seen in some youtube vids

driving around, the differences are subtle, if even that.

little to no improvement in idle. it was smooth to begin with
maybe a slight increase in power, very hard to tell
slightly more audible exhaust note (??)
increased smoothness in launches and shifts

maybe the differences will become more noticeable as its driven. I thought the car ran good to begin with and figured it wouldn't hurt.

I use one can in the crankcase (oil change shortly after), one in the fuel tank, and one through the vacuum lines. I run the entire can of Seafoam through the vacuum lines, hold the idle until the can is empty, then turn the car off. Let the car sit for 5-10 minutes, then start her back up and run the hell out if it. Smoke like you've never seen before, but a noticeable difference in idle, power, just about everything. Love the stuff.

I was down a half quart the other day, topped that off along with the halogen fluid for the left headlight. Thankfully I noticed before the night fell. The dooforlater valve still isn't working right though.

ah, makes sense ;) but a non trivial amount of smoke did come out, so it did do something.

ive also given the car more than a few Italian tune ups since I've had it.
