Would you Pay 1200 for this?

I am looking at a S50 motor from a local M3 guy here. He is asking 1200 for it incomplete. Here is a PM I received

I'm probably looking for about $1200 for the motor as it sits, with everything I don't need for my conversion. As you probably know, it won't have injector or coil harnesses, intake manifold, fuel rail, injector cover, knock sensors, or flywheel. I assume you can source these from your other m50. It will have exhaust manifolds (cast), alternator, starter, coils. Just FYI, the thermostat, thermostat housing, water pump are fairly new(less than 10K miles for sure). The cam chain tensioner on side of block is very new. You would also be welcome to the previous radiator, which wasn't very old ( 1 or 2 years or so), but I did have a small "nipple" break off ( the small one for overflow tank on drivers side top) when removing. I think it could be repaired with a fitting and epoxy, as there doesn't seem to be much stress there, and plenty of plastic to bond to. Probably some other stuff I'm forgetting, too.

I already have an M50 ready to go for my car and I am thinking that for 1200 I can put some boost to what I already have and be farther ahead than getting this one. What would you do?

compression test

I have a 3 liter (s50) m3 engine that will be available soon. Has a blown head gasket between cylinders 5&6. No mixing of oil and coolant. 120K miles. Ran great before! It won't have intake manifold or fuel rail ( being used for 3.2 liter transplant). Organic Mechanic helped with compression test before removal:

that is what I was thinking. I was thinking more like 500 or so seeing how it is a core motor as sitting.

150 is pretty low for the "good" cylinders... sounds like the head needs a complete valve job.
