Well on my 88 325is it had a crappy Autozone cold air filter on it but i had no shield well ronight I decided to stick on a factory airbox. So I pulled out the nasty Round filter and stuck back in a factory airbox which was a bitch and a half. But it was well worth it. Now that It sucks could air from behind the headlights, the engine is making so much more power. I took a quick juant down to the local grocery store and at the first stop Sign when I floored it and shifted into second at 6000 rpm's I got the whole rear end loose. Ussualy at that stop sign I can just get the tires to chirp. Then when Pulling out of the Grocery store I got the Rear end crazy loose as I went down the road fishtailing. So much fun!!! Every one had talked aobut how the e30's where tail happy but I could never get mine to hang it's ass out unless I realy pushed it. So it's now the factory airbox for me untill I can afford a proper K & N filter with a heatshield.

Yeah, I've gotten my rear end out often with my 1987 325. Now that I have the chip, it'll happen for often. I've had my fair share of fun on wet roads. All my friends have front wheel drive cars - I love given them crap for it too! :D
I've been keeping my airbox. I'm thinking I'll just clean out the filter when I get a chance. Does it really sound a lot better with an open filter rather than the airbox?- Sean Hayes

i had a similar experience when i went back to the airbox in the old car....probly a combination of sucking in too much hot air and the fact that the filter hadnt been cleaned for a while....but that airbox felt pretty damn good!
on a similar note, weve had our first taste of summer, 33C yetserday and 36C today...you can really feel the heat saturation in the engine bay.....it feels like a totally different car...during the day its sluggush as hell, but take it up into the hills at night and its sprtitely again....damn this hot arse country!sigpicM42 Brigade ... Throwing craze in the 318
