what is this sensor and where does it go?

so my cooling duct from the front valence fell off during and extreme burnout (not) and directly after that i noticed this sensor hanging down and my car now idles at 500rpm and the check engine light comes on, if i rev it up to about a 1000rpm the light goes off and all is normal so im figuring that this sensor is my problem. can someone tell me where it goes cuz i cant figure it out and what it does?
    here is a picture.
driver side pretty much directly under the intake box.

That's the temperature sensor for the OBC. Should not be affecting your idle.. You may have dislodged something else. Check your vacuum lines for leaks.
