I just bought one of his/mason's strut braces and am quite happy with it. Aside from the overall lack of factual evidence posted here, I think in general DC's stuff is good quality.

BTW I would be interested in the deadpedal at under $100 if that is possible. Also, would the skidplate be M42-compatible?

Skid plates for both the M20 and M42 (would be two different ones)...

Price really depends on how complex they turn out to be to make and we never really know that until we are done designing, testing, tweaking....

For the life of me I can't figure out why every thread you start turns to shit. The only common dominator seems to be you, DC.

        Is that a fair assessment?

Ok, from what I gather DC was once loved here
for selling strut bars, and such.

Now he's hated because the china M3 seals pealed off,
or turned to dust. Did I get that right?

Hmm, can't think of anything I'd like to see for the
e30. Do you just have a welder guy? Just metal fabrication?

Perhaps you can make something simple like m30 e30 motor mounts?
I'd like to see an affordable m20 intake manifold.

How about a DIY supercharger type kit? Just
sell the brackets to mount a m90 or whatever supercharger
          guys run. IDK.

Is your "dead pedal" just a piece of aluminum
placed over the stock dead pedal/carpet or what?
          What makes it worth 100+bux?

Seat brackets for the vader/e36 seat.

Not allot of reviews on your bars.
Part of the reason I'm not buying them.
I know for my VW the lower tie bar had a large
improvement on steering response. Tightened shit up... allot!

but that's the lowly mk1 vw.

ejknight is already selling skidplates for just about any e30 application you can think of, I'd look for something else to design.

Yes I suppose that would be a fair assessment up to a point... (depending on the point of view).

There are also a few the "Usual Suspects" in each one as well.

Yes that's true... If they suited my needs I'd buy one... But I'm into doing something a little different.

No. It will be substantially more than that. The use of these is to rest your foot at the same level as the clutch so you don't monkey hop up and down to get to the pedals.

A skidplate similar to the factory design would be nice. I hear rumors but no confirmation that the factory ones are NLA. Also I have not seen a OEM skidplate for the m42 which has a cutout for the oil drain plug.

If your not into designing a long range fuel tank, how about just the piping? I know its outrageously expensive at the dealer.

Yes the OE "aggregate guards" are NLA... They were pretty clunky things that looked like a fire place grate...

My aim is to protect the pan from breaking on miscalculated collisions with speed bumps and kerbs without adding a ton of weight to the front of the car and not increasing parasitic drag.

Additional fuel tanks and the like come with a whole set of problems that I am personally not into dealing with.

Put an Ipod in your pocket and use ear buds (only one ear if you want to be legal on the street....)

                          If you really want lightweight...

May I suggest the IPod nano and shorten the ear bud cord to it's absolute fuckin' minimum.

Now you can shoot me $20 for my consult.

Do you have a wind tunnel to test this skid plate for drag?

                              No...

But I have extensive testing data from prior wind tunnel tests and I do know exactly where the boundary layer is and can predict from that information how it is and will be affected...

...baring any weird ass anomalies that is.

And no... Just to get this out of the way up front...

... I won't publish the data to back up the claim.

Butterfly braces are sexy. But honestly, i'd probably never buy one.

would your skidplate be more or less $ than ejnights?

To be perfectly honest, in an eta for a college student, that takes priority over drag
