    e30 wont run cold...wtf

    so my car runs like sh%t when the air is cold and moist.

    the mileage drops to 15mpg and the car studders

    when its hot i.e. air temps in the 80's the car runs like a demon.

    i dont know what to do?

    last nite i got stranded on the way to an after hours club. i had to sleep in the car till noon when the sun came out and could drive it home

      Bad secondary ignition (cables cap rotor).... Gets damp and the spark goes to hell?

              Kind of thing you think of after years of weird car problems day in and day out...

              It also takes higher KV to fire a plug on a cold engine aggravating a "leaky" secondary problem...

              Could be all kinds of things though...

                oh yeah its a 1984 318i

                i just downloaded a sheet on how to disassymble the warm up regulator.
                but i would like to know where the cold start valve is.

                im pretty sure its not a spark wire problem. i have a clear dist cap and i see the spark

                    temp senser maybe?

                      ok i new to FI ....
                      i am supect of all the sensors...being that the car was built the last time the olmypics were here...and my hand held video games were red blimps

                      but what senor would cause this problem

                      i hope its not this bad boy...@ 135$
