They are just seemingly to be getting harder and harder to find as everyone is looking for them, and people are complaining about not being able to find one.

I was just saying it would be a shame to take such a bab'ied and stock nice E30 and have it go to someone who would butcher it or not take care of it. If it goes to someone who would maintain it, that would be good. And by cruiser I mean slightly modfied, like Neil's old 318is, but not slammed and kitted and tinted, or stripped and caged.

Take a peek at Bf.c's E30 section, if you care to.....or not. There are like 4-5 very recent threads about people looking for iS cars. And still more who have been searching for a while. They might not be rare.....but that could include the $8K ones of people who are selling them and think they can get that much.

Hopefully somenone will feel the same way I do about this nice car, and buy it and appreciate. But oh well, it's just an E30.....that means we shouldn't think anything about it or give a crap about a nicely maintanced, reasonably priced clean car.

I went to see this car and i pulled up in the henna m3 and he said "i bet the paint on that was as good as this back in the day" The cars not really it that good of shape, the paint is clearly buffed, you can see the swirls in it. It would be a good shell but not really much more.

          Bullshit, and bullshit.

318is's (in good shape, mind you, not including the wrecks in junkyards around the country) are becoming more and more rare on the roads. It's estimated there's probably only 15-20,000 in the world still roadworthy. out of the original 41,234.

That makes a good shape 318is right around the same rarity as a good shape E30 M3 (of which there were only about ~18,000 made in the world, 4,996 of them belonging to the US.

While I would agree that they're not "collector's cars," the 318is certainly isn't the car that should be beat to death and not cared for...

If noone turns their heads at E30s, how come Randy Sparre's E30 gets/got so much attention? What about Jordan's? Trent's (R.I.P.) car? Chris (C///M)'s car? The McHenrys?

          You're full of it.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

The "best example" of any car will turn heads. Seriously dude, that is not something that can parallel a 160k stock 318iS. (41,000 > 18,000, by the way)

Tell me you see just as many M3's on the road as you do 318iS's and then we can start comparing the rarity of those two cars.

I have much respect for the 318iS, and after driving one, I think they have tons of potential. And never did I say that one shouldn't be cared for. I just think that keeping a 160k car, any 160k car, in concours condition (particularly a base model) is retarded. And I can't think of a single argument against that.
