heres a noob question for you all, how much and what kind of labor is involved in instlaling this? is there a lot of work that requires defininte skill? of just time?
Some mechanical experience would definetly be required. Obviously as stated before you will be removing the A/C and placing the unit in that location with the bracket pictured and provided..... but I bet it's not just a simple bolt-on. If you look at the kit and brackets it's pretty self explanitory but guaranteed you will have some custom cutting to fit the intercooler and other misc items.
I bet you would wrap up a whole weekend in a driveway install EASY. I know that the site says 8 hours, but that's for a skilled tech with pnuematic tools and lifts. Most of us are driveway mechanics working on jack-stands with hand tools. If you want it, go for it - but I hope you have secondary transportation ready - it's not gonna be an 8 hour job (especially if your BigHands get in the way ;) )
taht pulley looks very large, if it makes 7-8 psi with that honker, stick a 1.25 ich diameter on there and watch for flying parts!
From what I have read Rotorex sc's are really hard to get more boost out of due to them spinning at such a high RPM. I think to produce the 7-8 psi they are spinning at about 60k rpm which is a lot for a supercharger. If you pushed the boost up more you would run the risk of breaking the supercharger and/or greatly increasing intake temps.
screw removing the A/C compressor, just mount it above the compressor or remove the power steering pump instead.
For $3000 I could turbo my ride and crank out at least 280 at the flywheel on an otherwise stock M20. But, alas, I do like superchargers.
