Is anyone paying this USF1 thing any mind? I have doubts, big ol' hairy doubts, that it will take off. Would I be happy/proud if it does take off? Only if they can secure some decent drivers and perform well in their inaugural season. I heard some rumor that Danica (look at me, I has vagina) Patrick was being pursued as a potential driver. If she is there, I will lol when the team falls face first into the fail wall.

but with the different aero package, less hp, and the FIA's ever increasing goal to slow the cars down, thats pretty good on a track like bahrain

edit: not to mention thats a BMW time vs a Mclaren time

Was that a race lap? That may explain it as race laps are usually slower than testing and practice laps. But yeah, when both are running slicks, last years is way faster as shown but the difference b/w toro rosso times and everyone else.

im simply saying that 'The FIA is trying to slow down the cars year by year and it dosent seem to of worked this time'

Much less drag on a high speed track.

Doesn't seem that out of line. I didn't realize they were making noticeably less HP because of 1000 less Rev's.

What do you guys think about USF1? You think it will go threw? Also who would you think the drivers are?
I think its pretty cool, I just hope they pick talent over someones name.
I would like to see a least one of these guys

Eh, I have to disagree about Graham Rahal, the kid hasn't shown me much and I espcially don't think he's worthy of being a driver for the potential USF1 team, maybe a tester. He did alright in Champ Car, but I'm still not sold.

Regarding the USF1 team, maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. Either way, I'm not banking on them getting any podiums until 2012 or 2013. It's kind of irrelevant at this point.

Well, this could end really badly or it could end with them being right behind STR and Williams. Either way, it will be pretty interesting (unless Danica is chosen as one of the drivers.)

I watched a few minutes of it on tuesday, as expected nothing was really said.

It will be fun to see a team in the US, and even more fun if i can weasel my way into the team [i wish!] But it does give some of us hopeful young American engineers something to dream of.

By 2010 the operating costs will be cut down so much that this will be a reality, but i wonder if it would be more advantageous to buy the current Honda team and work from there.
