KERS needs to be eliminated or improved upon. if its at the point of being 50/50 on advantages vs disadvantages it makes no point for who will use it or not

I agree and see your point, and I can't argue the FIA findings since they have far more evidence. So i guess I will consider it vettle's fault from now on.
On a slightly related note, there were multiple cars going 2 wide through that complex all race. Kubica had to know vettle was still on his side pod, unless he just assumed he had let him by clean. But the battle was for second, Anyone of us would have pushed the issue like vettle did for that position, and Kubica should have realized that. He was probably just thinking about pushing to Button though.

Vettel should have (and half amitted) given up second to kubica who was running way faster than him. But Vettel tried to hold the position came into the turn way too agressively and lost traction which resulted with the contact with Kubica who was holdin his line for the next turn. Whether he thought Vettel would try and hold the poition is irrelevant, Kubica tried to make a legitimate passing attempt and Vettel hit him. I truly think at his pace Kubica would have at the very least caught button if not had a legitimate chance at passing him. Definetly a disappointing outing for BMW especially Heidfeld who doesn't seem to be able to get a break.

Malaysia will be awesome, can't wait to see Vettel and Kubica next week! Two of my favorite drivers and it was so sad to see them get into contact with each other. It was even more painful to see Hamilton end up so high in the points hahaha, but he ran a good race and definitely deserved his finish.

I think Hamilton just ran a strategy that hoped for this exact outcome. He definitely got lucky but he had to be driving the wheels off that crappy car to get to the position he did. What happened to Glock that kept him behind Hamilton? Just traffic or what? I seemed to forgot that part of the race.

I think Glock was caught out by the last safety car, he pit on lap 50.

first of all wow, congrats to Brawn, but I am so pissed at what happened with Kubi and Vettel.... I started jumping up and down when Kubi took Sebastian on the outside, and then it all felt apart.

anywho, i am so stocked, even though Heidfeld had the accident early on, and Kubi got a bit greedy too soon, still a good race overall.

KERS is definitely not going away, they're talking about running V6 petrol (or even diesel!)/electric hybrids in the F1's from 2013, with the electric motors being charged KERS style, but having a much greater capacity (way more power on offer for way longer) which would have to utilise the flywheel type of energy storage because it has a larger storage potential than the capacitors that all KERS teams bar Williams (using a flywheel system) are running now.

So get used to it!! haha


On a side note:
What a great weekend! I only got a few hours sleep after the flight home last night before I had to get up for work, but it was definitely worth it, even if both Ferraris ended up in the pits longer than they were on the circuit.

Btw, I agree exactly with what Joe318is said a couple of pages back about all the post race issues.

Vettel got the 10 grid space penalty for the accident. His team was fined 35,000 GBP for telling him to continue (likely hoping for points if the race finished behind the safety car). Considering that wheel could've hit someone if the tethers broke I'd say the monetary fine is justified. I don't agree with the grip penalty, I think both drivers were at fault equally, they both were trying to squeeze each other off the track and made a dumb move.

I agree, but 10 place penalty went be that big of a punishment if Vettel drives like he did Sunday. He just has to live turn 1 now. Vettel should be in the points again and so should Kubica.

I know most of you won't really care that much but there is rumours of the Montreal GP returning this season since track construction in Abu Dhabi is running behind schedule and a hole would be left in the schedule. If not this year than maybe 2011! None of this is official but i'm still super excited!!
