Dickweed got what he deserved, he obviously has seen more movies than been to racing schools.
1. dont undercut a 911 or a Noble in a freaking Mitsu at an amature event
2. drifting isnt faster
3. Anyone who races knows if you have an excursion its both feet in and dont dry to save it.
I remember this from bimmerforums. I was more shocked at seeing a John Deere in France than seeing a Evo wrecked.
The guy was drifitng in the track and made a mistake. What's so bad about it? He actually held it pretty well in most of his drifts.
Everyone makes mistakes. It just so happens with drifting your risks are higher, although he understeered on that corner, and that was in no way related to drifting and controlling a drift.
Yeah but he was drifting a wee bit to close to the other cars sometimes. Besides, he wasnt doing it to go faster, on some of the turns it was completly unneccesary.
Basically what 808 said. If you go off track just keep the wheel foward (some people try to steer INTO the skid) but dont try and save it. What happens if you try and save it like that is you have two tires on a surface with no traction and two tire on tarmac. You garuntee to spin the car and once you get sideways on a soft surface its almost a given that the tires will roll and the wheels will bite. Once that happens you are airborne.
So if you just let the car go straight (along the plane where the car is LONG) and just mash the pedal then you will slide. The idea is its much better to hit the wall than roll.
Mr Expert-Drifter should have known that, and he shouldnt have risked that shit around very nice cars that obviously belong to individuals who dont intend to swap paint.
