    e23 Love??

I might pick up an '82 733i as a DD. It's a boat and super comfortable, the interior is in great shape, and it has 163k miles on it. Decent respray in black, small BBS mesh wheels with new tires, overall it seems like a decent buy for 2k. thoughts?

Black resprays usually turn me away because every little detail can be noticed, but for a DD it's a non-issue. That is great mileage and $2k is a pretty good asking price (assuming there isn't any rust.)

The 733i had a higher compression M30 than the 735i IIRC, I know it's the case with the E28 533i and 535i, and I believe the same holds true for the E23 7er.

    Pictures?

      they'll be coming soon.

where should I look for rust? it's a California car, and the spare tire area is clear.

I had an 82 735i euro 5 speed and loved it.

I'm going to assume yours is an auto. If it's a 5 speed def. go for it.

Not sure about those cars, but the typical drainage areas, frame rails, battery compartment, underbody, under carpet (if possible), beneath doors, etc. are all prime areas for rust.

Rust usually under the fenders, in the roof drains and window vents, and cowl rust. The underbody usually isn't too bad, but the rockers and shock towers can also rust easily.

My dad owned one around the time I was born. It was one of his favorite cars.

I just nutted. On that note, anyone know where I can get springs/shocks/swaybars? not real low, just enough to tighten the handling up a bit. I can't find anything on the usual sites.

That Hartge is Crazy nice. I usually see an Alpina rep on 2nd ave in manhattan from time to time thats really nice also. You dont see too many nice early sevens around.
