New engine Help!

I have a 90 325is and I believe that it is just about time for a new engine or rebuild. I would really like to get some more power into that little car. Ideally I would want a 95 M3 engine put in there, but my budget wont allow it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to add maximum hp with the least $ spent? I need something that will be dependable but FAST! Thanks...

I know. I know, but I cant find anything with $ on it. I was also looking for how much I should expect to pay for the different options.

start looking at ebay, craigslist, and the classifieds everywhere you can think of. Also, there's an entire forum dedicated to engine swaps.
