    finally coming togther

So the ghetto E30 that I bought is finally starting to look and run like a respectable car now. There are still a few minor issues, but over all I am really happy with the car. I bought it a little less than 2 months ago, but this is what I've done so far.

    replaced ghetto wheels with bottlecaps
added a spare bottle cap (car had no spare)
removed ghetto chrome decal from grill
removed ghetto chrome decal from window trim
    removed turbo badge
    removed m3 badge
    replaced shift bushings
    replaced ghetto shift knob
    replaced ripped shift boot
    replaced guibo
replaced 'race' muffler with a quiet one
    gutted broken cat
    replaced ghetto stereo wiring
    replaced speedometer
    replaced temp gauge
    rewired front turn signals
    rewired brake lights
    replaced dist cap and rotor
    repaired ghetto dist ground wire
    replaced ratty BMW badges

Grand total including $800 purchase price is around $1100.

    Still to go:
    fix the 2k rpm idle
    replace driver interior door handle
    fix rear defroster
    replace 'special' wiper motor
    replace fan shroud

1st pic is as it sat when I looked at it.

2nd and 3rd pics are as I brought it home, as I begged that the guy take the 18" chrome wheels off and replace with something 14 or 15".

4th pic is as current - sorry its dirty and at night - one day soon I'll get a proper clean day time pic.

bottlecaps > 18" ghetto chrome rims

i'd also change the grilles to normal black (euro) ones.
*** For sale: euro stuff, BBS steering wheels, smoked tail lights, bunch of rare wheels (5x120 and 4x100) ***

LOL @ chrome grille.... when I brought my E30 home, my neighbor was looking at it and said.. "you should get a chrome grill and put it on there".... I almost slapped him.

I think I spy some wheel gap.

                        A lot of wheel gap.

Tires are 185/60/14, so they are a hair small. I had them lying around the garage - snows from a past vehicle.

I was able to get a better deal by letting him keep the ghetto 18" chrome wheels. I made out for two reasons - A) cheaper purchase price B) I wasn't entirely embarrassed to drive it.
