My car seems to not pull very hard anymore. If its running and I pop the hood, I hear a ticking sound, around the intake plenum or benith it. I was thinking that it was a vacuum leak in my intake. Cars an 85 325e, 180k on the odo. Any suggestions? :(

Check the rubber elbow. Pull it off and look down the elbow in the sunshine. See any light through some cracks? Or most of the time if you pull on the elbow and twist some you can see cracks and deterioration. Check the clamps as well.

check your valvetrain, adjust your rockers maybe?
