Acura seats in an e30?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to put acura integra seats into an e30. Do they fit? Do you need to make a new bracket?

I was thinking of putting some type r seats into my e30 because the sport seats are so damn hard to find in tan leather! What do you guys think?

your right, but one of my buddies has a set he would sell to me. I would also be into the beige leather seats they have. They match up pretty close in color to my e30 natur seats. You think they would be a tough install?

the acura seats have odd rails...its like you have to bend them straight because they mount to the car at an angle...i had them before in my crx and i didnt like them, i now have 89 prelude seats and they hold you very well i suggest looking for these if you do decide to use some type of honda seat they are very comfy and have great support....i picked mine up for a great price of $50 at a junk yard

What type r seats came in tan? I thought the jdm ones were red and the usdm ones were the same but black (maybe red stitching). Are you talking gsr leathers?

Either way I'd just look for the oem sport seats. I love mine, even though they are really worn out they are comfy and hold me well. I'm pretty thin too, so that might have something to do with them. I think the sport seats will just look more natural in the e30. I'm sure you could sell genuine type - r seats and buy something else for the BMW and pocket some cash.

ya, I meant the tan gsr seats. I know the is seats look the best, but they are impossible to find! Mine are all ripped up and I dont want to pay a ton of money getting them rewrapped. The integra seats are everywhere and they feel pretty good. Just looking for options... I talked to my mechanic and he said he would be able to fit them in pretty easily.

Type R seats are just Recaro SRD's (an older version of the Recaro Speed). Since SRD's came stock in the E30 M3 Evo III, you can still buy factory mounts for them. But they end up being pretty high.

I have a set in my E30 that I mounted using custom brackets so they'd be lower to the floor. These came out of my mechanic's Japanese-market Lancer Evolution II GSR:





I love them. Most comfortable seats I've ever used in any car (including the Recaro Sports in my Evo VIII).

Great looking seats and install. But the OP mistyped, he's actually looking at tan gsr's. AKA not worth it.
