please help....my car eats strut mounts.s

so i have ireland engineering springs, bilstein struts...and just installed bilet aluminum strut mounts, which just failed...right after installation. what the hell? seriously....does anyone have ANY suggestions? its a stiff suspension but to have JUST put down the car off of jack stands and have the strut mounts burst through?

on a side note i also put in new brake pads and rotors...i have fluid but didnt have anyone to help me bleed the system so i kept the same fluid in there, but after the hardware swap my emergency brake is really loose and doesnt do squat...help, please.

pictures would be great on the strut mounts...

fluid has nothing to do with the emergency brake... adjust it... get bentley... etc etc

my RSM busted through when the shock was installed improperly. if i remember right, there was a washer missing from the top.

sorry about the lack of photos....just imagine two struts poking up through the mount into the trunk of your car...and thats exactly what has happened, 3 times, in the last 2 months of replacing the initial breaks.

The orientation of the washers is essential. If you installed them correctly each time and the mounts failed all three times, your subframe bushings are probably shot.

alright...well in reference to the washer situation, this set of rsm's didnt come with any, they just came with some red super tough donut shaped plastic inserts that went on both sides of the sm. i'll post up pictures tomorrow, for now i'm just gonna get to bed...5 hours of wrenching, i'm spent.

Did the mount fail or the sheet metal? I'd say something isn't being installed properly because it would take a lot of force to continually rip out shock mounts, especially aluminum ones.

I'm betting you're missing the large washer that goes on first.

yes, and i think the washer is associated with the strut, not the RSM.
