    Nah, they aren't fragile motors. They're actually quite robust and torquey motors that if properly maintained will eclipse most M20's and M30's. Parts are expensive, certain labor is too, but aside from that most people's misconceptions are based off of the rats that frequent CraigsList and eBay.

    From what I remember, the 5.0L V12 had 295 bhp and the 5.4L V12 had 325 bhp. Hardly astonishing, considering the M60 and M62 had 280 bhp and 282 bhp respectively.

          they are exceptionally sturdy motors. The problem is the rest of the car gets plagued with annoying little problems and owners just dump em. High end cars still need high end maintenance when theyre 20 year old beaters.

          id love to rock one twin turbo, you could probably wring at least 600 out of one of these with a nice pair and good management. which is what id run anyways if you were gonna stuff one of these in an e30, the twin DME's is just a shitload of harness to jam in there.
