    toy run at Pick-n-Pull: UPDATE

I was at the Pick-n-Pull Import yard near my house (in Rancho Cordova, CA) this morning and and found that they had 2 facelift E30's, a rarety indeed. I picked up an extra ellipsoid assembly (for spare parts), a set of pitted but uncracked fog lamps, and a unique leather one-piece e-brake handle and boot. In case anyone is interested, there is an M-Tech I steering wheel and a black vinyl "lux" rear seat (arm rest and head rests!!) among other usable parts still available.

    UPDATE:
So, assembled all of the pieces I needed and got to work on the install. As you can see from the first pic, the fog lights cleaned up pretty well. I tried polishing them to no avail, so I used the clear coat from my wheel paint and that helped quite a bit. Once I covered them with Lamin-X, its difficult to tell they were ever pitted. The job is still not finished though. I still have to get the wiring for the switch correctly mounted. I also have to install the indicator light in the dash. I was able to get everything else connected though. I can hear the relay click as I press the fog light switch, but the lamps don't come on. I have to see if voltage is getting to the lamps. If so then I have bad bulbs. We'll see. In the mean time here are progress pics. Enjoy!

Not sure how much they want. The leather seemed to be in good shape, it was missing the center cap, however.

Thanks. I'm gonna have to adjust the parking brake so it doesn't pull up so high as it pulls up a little from the console (not a big deal), but so far I'm loving it!

My buddy Steve's co-worker spotted the fogs and he forwarded the info onto me. Still some good parts as of this morning. You should check it out tomorrow before they're stripped.

Nice finds at the junker. You should have bought the wheel and ebayed it.

mark do you ever check out sacramento beamer? they had 2 red 88 325i's wrecked when i went there on tuesday. i picked up the shadowline trim from them. that jamaican dude has a billion spare parts. he drives a good looking (first impression only, sans the hubcaps) 325ix manual. he was asking 3000 for it but i wasn't really interested.
I retired my E30 for now...

Thanks for the compliment. As for the wheel, I didn't have the correct tools with me to pull it. Plus my wife would have killed me. We have so much stuff that needs to go up on eBay that its not funny. My plans are to eventually upgrade to an M-Tech II wheel.

I've never heard of Sacramento Beamer, where are they located? I'm only familiar with Bavarian Auto Recycling and B&M&W

hah, kind of in the ghetto. k, assuming you are coming from elk grove, you would be going north down florin-perkins road. right after you pass florin road, i think the second side street on the right is weyand avenue. go down weyand and it should be about 200 yards from the turn, 8600 Weyand Ave, Suite A. the jamaican dude who runs it seems kind of shady and mean but he is really cool. his name is danny. phone them at 916-381-4269. i didn't even know about this place until some guy who owned a 325i i wanted to look at in laguna told me about them. he gave me a card and told me to go check them out. let me know if you come across something good :)
