Theyd most likely kill you if they did try to box you in and you passed them in the middle, not realizing the dangers of side mirrors. If you passed on the improved shoulder they wouldnt have enough time to react. Youd pass them before they ever drifted off onto the shoulder. Plus, even if they tried on purpose jerking into the shoulder, youd still pass them before they the idea popped into their head.
If you were in a car, and some idiot wanted to play cop for a while, youd be in more danger since the hp to weight ratio would slow down your maneuvers.

I saw this movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode! I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."
As mentioned, the book (The Driver) is about Alex Roy and touches on his 31:04 Transcontinental record set back in October 2007. I haven't finished the book yet, but after meeting him during his book tour (which passed through Charlotte, NC) he seemed like a pretty cool guy. He produced (or co-produced) the movie 32:07, which is about the former Transcontinental record set back in the 1970's. The movie has had numerous deadline dates, and I don't even think Alex knows when it will be done, but it should be fairly entertaining.
You know you could have Googled "BMW M5 New York Los Angeles," right?
