Is alpine white just gloss white?

Or is it something that I'd have to have mixed for me?

    Thanks.

For an exact match you would need to have something mixed. It is a certain "shade" of gloss white. For example, you can notice a difference between Alpine White I and Alpine White II when they are right next to each other.

Say I'm just doing a plastic bumper swap for a girl?

My car is schwarz and has diamondschwarz bumpers. No one seems to notice.

I guess the question is how far off is it from gloss white?

Its pretty far off. You cant just go to the parts store and grab gloss white and it match.
I tried it once when I was touching up some stuff on my car and it looked really really white compared to alpine.
Just go to paintscratch.com and order a can of Alpine1 single stage page and then buff it out.

Good to know - thank you. I just got a spray gun so I'll probably just order a quart of alpine or something.

I am SO glad I don't have a white car. White is the single hardest color to match properly in the car world.

All factory Schwarz cars had Diamantschwarz bumpers, IIRC.

                I thought it was silver.

I think silver definitely tops it, especially light metallic shades.

My '91 has schwarz bumpers. My '87 has hässlich bumpers. Both are schwarz cars.

Your 91's bumpers were painted, then. Schwarz cars came with DS bumpers from the factory.

What was that one website that sold factory specific paint in spray cans? I would go there if I could recall the site.
