Waaaaay too much bolt-on crap (the lighting, the cluster, the virtually useless cone filter, calipers, wheels, etc.) I prefer simple, euro looking E21's over your old one.

I didn't realize M20-powered E21's were that rare, I probably would have opted for an M42 due to its weight compared to the M20.

Not my kind of car, but you certainly brought it back from the dead.

Cluster lights and the led's make me want to kill myself, but it no doubt looks a hell of a lot better than when you got it. Nice job overall

Isn't the weight difference only about ~40lbs.? Maybe he wanted the extra hp? And the whacky snap oversteer handling characteristics associated with?

I am sorry to say, but someone who gets a car in that shape and gets it into the condition it is currently in is a hard, and diligent worker, as well as very creative. I think he has the right to put whatever he wants on his car to make it how he likes it. No insult to you though, you have the same right.

Well, yeah, it's ~60 lbs less, 16V, more peaky, more advanced than the M20, chain-driven, etc. Plus, being shorter, it can be placed directly above the front axle for better weight distribution. The only possible hang up might be wiring.

An M42 in an '02 is my dream, but an M42 in an E21 would be cool to see as well.

Thanks for your comment I should of wrote a story of what had to be done. I got the yellow car from the junkyard an original 323i. I started this off as a project for my first car. I was 15, still in my learning phase... Then we found out the body was way to rusty, come to find out the engine was also locked up. So then I had to find another car and engine for the M20 swap. I got the blue 320i and got another junkyard car 325e. We then swapped engines and got the 2.7 eta in. Thats the way it was for a while then I found out about the stroker motor and rebuilt the engine again. That was about 3 years ago. I currently own an M3 which will be tastefully modded. I appreciate that you see the work that it took to make the car look the way it does.

                            Thanks - Randy
