    Thanks for the advice guys.
It looks like the best option is to get it appraised and then show the appraisal to state farm. If they turn it down and I get in a wreck, then at least I have the fuel to say that they knew the value of the car.
It will be interesting to see what the car is worth to someone else (it is worth a lot to me).

I currently have State-farm insurance. The car holds a Salvage Title and was bone stock when i got it. They took some pics of it and my agent told me that they can put full coverage on it for $65 a month. I explained to him that I was going to heavily modify the E30 and all he said was bring in receipts and a current picture of everything done to up the value of the cars worth. He has been our family agent for 20 years so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Chris - I can hook you up with my dude at Nationwide. He'll insure you for whatever you want if you prove it with receipts.

You give them the aftermarket cost for liability? Seems like that would only benefit you for collision coverage.

I think I'm going to try to give State Farm a chance. If I get more BS, I'll be in touch :).

          Thanks bud!

Like the above post said, liability only covers damage you do to someone else's property, not your own. Collision only covers collisons with vehicles/objects, comprehensive covers flood/fire/theft/hail/etc.
