to make a long story short my mom is looking at a c230 Kompressor Sport Coupe. Does anyone know any info about this model and how i can get her to change to a bmw? she wants to get an automatic so a 5/6speed is outa the question. The prices are just about the same for this Mercedes and the base model 325i. I wont know the final interist rates for both untill tomorrow.

yes you are right but im just trying to figure out what kind of car is it... like how does it run,and how durable is it like our bimmers?

I do know that the paint should look fanominal in black and I will deffinetly have fun detailing it if and when she gets it.... time to spend some money for that $60 bottle of wax that will make the black paint look soo wet. :twisted:

not all BMWs are "reliable" as you would think.

and i'm sure if she bought the c coupe it will be as "reliable" of a car if properly maintained. just research.

My mother drives a e36 325i, I raced my freinds Mom's C230 kompressor in it. ( lol )

He won, both were auto.

Luxury wise, the benz is nicer. For a more responsive engine with a nice sound, make take the 325, but it's a woman. Let her get the MB.

They're not too bad in terms of power and equipment content, but the quality/reliability is so-so, even for a Mercedes. They're not very popular cars so I haven't worked on too many of them, but a few guys I know at the dealer don't seem to like them very much.

yea there are backseats, my mom wont't get a 2 seater, i dont blaim her too.
On a comparison the C230 Komp sports coupe is much cheaper then the bimmers. My mom is only buying new she said since the interist is very low. I think its being raised starting october first, she is going out tonight to pick out the car/order it. So i guess its almost save to say the E30 is almost mine. I just have to get the grades now...3.7gpa for the whole year 8)

The Coupe is a few grand cheaper than a base 325i. A base 325i isn't going to have much in the way of luxuries though... they're all optional (leather, heated seats, upgraded stereo, automagic tranny, sunroof, sports package, metallic paint, are all options).

BMWs and benzes are fairly reliable if maintained. Relability is an often mis-used term. People complain when wear items like shocks, bushings, control arms, etc need to be replaced. But that isn't reliability. With an electronic-intensive car like BMW's and Benzes, electronic failures can be extremely annoying and disable the car. Annoying, yes. End of the world, no. If you have a good dealer who has experienced and has loaner cars its no big deal.

As far as interest rates, the German car companies usually don't have interest rates rivaling the domestic and japanese companies. You're not gonna find a 3er for 0 down, 0% interest, and no payments for 12 months. However, in my experience, dealing with the Internet Manager is makes it much easier and hassle free to get a good deal. My dad got his 3er for $500 over invoice, with no haggling... far better deal than any of the typical salesmen would've offered.
