I'm pretty sure that's a 1.8L m10 with an m44 head on it. It's a common swap for those of us in the know. It makes at least 270 hp - more if you run premium gas.

      Hey Blunt.

Time to have another coffee and wake up. You don't recognize an S14 anymore?

The S14 swap is the only "noble" engine swap for a 2002 - This is only my opinion.

Te M42 swap is not very easy as the engine is totally different from the original M10. Then the M20 swap requires to remove the rad support core, move the rad to the front, and after all that work, the engine unbalances the car. But it still make the car fun to drive... on extra power.

The S14 motor can be installed in the stock position with M10 motor mounts and pan/oil pump. But there will be interference between the driver side idle arm and the headers, as well as with the center link and the tranny. I am a guy who likes challenges. So, my swap moved the S14 by 1.5" to the back for much improved weight distribution. It also allows the idle arm to clear the muffler. It gives a lot of room between the pulleys and the radiator. I also made a custom S14 oil pan to fit the swap.

The S14 swap is not as easy as people will tell you. But it will be rewarding. In my case, I expect 210hp on a 2000lbs car.

Custom mounts. I designed them to allow 1" and 1.5" set back. Basically, you install the passenger side, then locate the engine/trans,ission the way you like it. Mark the driverside, weld it and install. Mounts are stainless steel.

Will you help me tune my MS once its in?

You can help install it too if you want.
