It's not a big deal, ATF will not eat your engine. Your running it in a 1/5 dillution, it's none acidic, your seals aren't going to melt away. I just don't see the benefit. I mean obviously cleaner is better but why does atf do anything cleaning wise.
you pretty much said it. it's corrosive to seals and rubber as well as some coatings/metals. for a system to run atf (ie power steering, tranny) it has to have seals made with atf resistant materials. atf is also corrosive to carbon, this is why people use it clean up sludge in the engine.

still, i wouldnt be too willing to run it in the engine. just google atf and corrosive and see what comes up.

There's a website called something like Bob The Oil Guy, it's a forum devoted to motor oil, additives, etc. BTW, Lubro-Moly products are TUV approved, and approved to be used by some German Auto Manufacturers (Porsche I believe), so they're not junk.

I doubt BavAuto would sell it and recommend it if screwed up the engine. If I drove enough I would do atf. Who knows I'm lazy and I just found a great mechanic in College Park that's letting me use his lift, maybe I'll just pay him to flush the system for me. Give him a little business and keep me in good standing to use his lift!!
