They run around 100-200 rpms. They are really cool. It takes a crane and two people to put a bearing in.

last summer I went to the MAN factory with my school class (they were partners with Rudolph Diesel-then stole his crap)-- was pretty interesting, they had a museum and everything there. went for a tour of the factory-- If I remember right, they make over 50% of the Transporter ship engines out there-- was really cool to see.
