so I was bored over the winter, no E30 project and I am waiting on some parts for the Bavaria S38 Swap. Since I go to Manhattan pretty often in the summer and parking is a nightmare and almost non existent, I've decided to build myself something different.
I got it on the coldest day of the year (12 degrees F) but thankfully I didn't have to ride it back to the shop, it came on the back of my truck
Anyway, the scooter is nice and although it's pretty new (2007) and this is the top of the Vespa line - GTV 250, it had few dings and scratches. Being a nut case that I am, I've decided to totally redo this little sucker, nip and tuck East coast style yo! :pimp:
Next day the work started. I knew I was going to repaint the scooter different color...
whoever designed the front fender on this Vespa was insane, either that or the original designer started the work, then went to lunch and Joseppe the cleaning guy completed it after few glasses of shanti.
To take the front fender off you have to freaking take half of the bike appart, including the front fork, WTF ??? :down:
At least Ducatis and MV Agustas are better designed, Vespa should learn from it's neighbours !
meanwhile I painted the rim centers nogaro silver (e30 m3 evo II style) :D

we had to come up with this intricate idea of how to paint the scooter
now the question was what color to paint it? Well, I thought of orange or green but had some Ferrari Red left over from the VW Cabrio project
we tried it on some parts and I love that gloss, it's so Italian !!!
