    '86 325ES, worth it?

    Hey guise,

Disregard the n00bish thread title, but I was wondering if you thought an '86 325es w/ about 300k miles (odo stopped at 238k), 5MT, slightly leaky rack, dinged up driver's side fender, and a small electrical bug (gotta pull the fuel pump relay from time to time to get the car to kick over, and the wiring clicks while driving) was worth my time. The guy is only asking 900, and it runs pretty strong, as far as I can tell.

It has the original seats and interior, but it's all pretty thrashed. Dash is cracked in a few places. It's a hell of a beater, but it feels strong.

Lemme know what you guys think.
    Thanks :3

I was thinkin somewhere along those lines. It runs like a champ, it's just gonna need a fair amount of interior work, and probably some engine maintenance. I can probably find a ton of parts at my local pick-a-parts/junkyards or through bavarian.

        900 sounds like too much. That's a 4-500 car.

Indeed I've paid 500 for less of a beater than that. . .talk him down and have cash in hand:pimp:

offer $500, when you see the car offer $400, settle at $450 like you just got kicked in the balls. enjoy the car. what are you plans with it?

I'm not sure a car like that is worth fixing.

More like a "drive it until it drops and I can afford something better" type of car.

Seriously. Instead of spending money on fixing it up, drive it until it drops, part it out and use the money you were going to use on fixing it up on a better car.

Decent, good running E30's can be found for $1500 nowadays for a base model.
