    1991 318i buying question

    1991 318i with 200k miles.

The car's main problem is that the transmission does not go into 2nd and 4th gear too easily. He also mentions the the front shocks and alignment need work. The paint is good however the seats have rips here and there.

He will do $300 for the car, thoughts?

Is their a fix for the tranny or will it need a tranny swap? s50/52 project?

Dang, that seems like a very good price if the car is otherwise sound.

I'd buy it if I had the space for a non-op vehicle. If it turns out to be too costly for you to repair you could part it and make the money back and then some.

Tranny could just be needing fluid. Throw some redline in that shit and see how that works out.

It could also be a totally clapped out shifter linkage in bad need of a rebuild.
